dicks in drag

This is a snippet of a larger piece i've just finished for POKE magazine. Its launching on Valentines Day during London Fashion Week and is the most original magazine concept i've seen in years in quite a boring homogeneous market. yup, POKE is aims to explore the role of the penis today. Its mission statement is to 'cover all references to the penis in our language, art, architecture, sex and politics . We are not about pornography as this aspect of the penis is well documented and represented in our society already.' I pretty much love it already, especially when I hear whispers of fashion shoots involving Swarovski covered testicles... you gotta love that. My illustration is accompanying a piece about the beauty's that are gay bingo at the ICA. But i'll post more about them when I can show the whole piece, drag queens need they're own post I reckon.

vintage betty number 1

This is for my good friends at French Kiss Vintage. The first for an ongoing monthly column, about vintage bettys, having just dyed my previously platinum blonde locks bright red for the 2010, the beautiful Joan Holloway character from Mad Men is currently my ultimate Belle de Jour.

2010 calender

okay - so I know its the 6th of Jan, but I had a very good and very heavy New Years Eve and as everyone goes back to work this week, this is the start of my 2010. It seems fitting I should give y'all a sneak peak of my calendar I did for the lovely ladies at The Pix think its probably out now anyway. The pix is a brilliant fanzine, I've been picking it up since my first year at uni alllll dem years ago, cause' the photography was so ace and I really liked the fonts, Princess Julia and Hanna Hanra even came to do a lecture in my second year, so its amazing to finally do something for them.
